The Martin Guitar Company has been long producing some of the finest acoustic instruments in the world for over 150 years. They are well-known as great producers of these instruments, throughout its changes of ownership in the family. The inception of the CF Martin guitar has an interesting and long history.
This company has been able to survive the passing on of the brand and responsibility to successive generations throughout the years. C.F. Martin, Sr. had Stauffer influenced created in the 1830s, while more recently, C.F. Martin IV was in charge of the company. Martin has few rivals in the arena of dedication and loyalty.

Christian was born into a line of cabinet makers, and took it up when he was 15. He then left for Vienna to become an apprentice of renowned guitar maker Johann Stauffer. With various guilds in the area claiming to own exclusive rights to manufacture musical instruments many people (who at that time were primarily cabinet makers) began to file appeals so as to still have the rights to still make guitars.
